Nello’s İtalyan Restaurant

Nello's İtalyan Resturant yine iki şubesi olan bir restaurant. Suadiye ve Erenköy olmak üzere iki tane şubesi var ve ben tahmin edeceğiniz üzere iki şubesine de gittim.

Nello's ile değişik bir duygusal bağım var. Özellikle Erenköy şubesiyle. Bir zamanlar önemli olan bir yemek için oraya gitmiştik.

Yemeklere büyülenmemiştim ama akşam gayet keyifliydi. Zaten bence Nello's lezzetten ziyade ambiyansı için tercih edilecek bir mekan. He lezzetsiz mi? Asla lezzetsiz değil en azından Erenköy değildi.

Erenköy şubesinde caprese ile başlayıp sonrasında iki çeşit pizza söylemiştik, bira da eşlikçimiz olmuştu. Yemeğimizi Panna Cotta ve Tiramisu ile sonlandırmıştık. Bence gayet keyifli bir deneyimdi. Özellikle ambiyans ile birleşince.

Beni şaşırtan Suadiye şubesinde bira olmaması oldu. Esasında pizza'nın eşlikçisi şarap olarak bilinse de gerçekte biradır. Bu nedenle Suadiye şubesinin pizzasıyla öne çıkan bir mekanda bira servis etmemesini şaşırtıcı buldum.

Ortam, masa örtüleri, müzikler, ziyaretçiler İtalyan restoranı konseptine gerçekten uyuyor. Suadiye şubesinde bahçesinde sigara içilmiyor.

Ben sanırım Suadiye şubesini sevmedim diyebilirim. Lezzetleri de ortalama altında buldum bu şubede. Sipariş ettiğimiz ürünler Bresaola Pizza ve Frutti de mare oldu. Pizza malzeme kalitesiyle okey denebilecek bir standart yakalamıştı fakat makarna örneklerine kıyasla başarısızdı. Soslar makarna ile eşleşmemişti, yeterince iyi temizlenmediğinden içinde kum vardı, malzeme-lezzet uyumu yoktu. Hatta yavandı diyebilirim. Ambiyans olarak da nedense depresif bir mod vardı o gün.

Suadiye'nin 6-7 ay önce Erenköy şubesine yaptığım ziyaretteki standartları tekrar tutturmaları dileğiyle.

Nello’s Italian Restaurant is another two-branch spot, with locations in Suadiye and Erenköy. As you might expect, I’ve been to both.

I have a rather personal connection with Nello’s—especially with the Erenköy branch. We once had a dinner there that held special meaning.

I wasn’t exactly mesmerized by the food, but the evening itself was thoroughly enjoyable. In my opinion, Nello’s is more of a place you go for the ambiance rather than just the taste. Was the food bad? Not at all—at least not in Erenköy.

At the Erenköy branch, we started with a Caprese salad and followed with two types of pizza, accompanied by beer. We ended our meal with Panna Cotta and Tiramisu. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience—especially when paired with the ambiance.

What surprised me at the Suadiye branch was the absence of beer. While wine is commonly known as pizza’s classic companion, in reality, beer is a much better match. So I found it odd that a pizza-forward restaurant like the Suadiye branch wouldn't serve beer.

The atmosphere, tablecloths, music, and guests all align well with the Italian restaurant theme. Note: smoking is not allowed in the garden area of the Suadiye location.

To be honest, I don’t think I liked the Suadiye branch. I found the flavors below average. We ordered the Bresaola Pizza and Frutti di Mare. The pizza met an OK standard thanks to the quality of its ingredients, but the pasta was disappointing compared to other examples I’ve had. The sauces didn’t pair well with the pasta, it hadn’t been cleaned properly—there was sand in it—and the overall flavor harmony was off. I’d even say it was bland. And for some reason, the overall ambiance felt a bit gloomy that day.

Here’s hoping the Suadiye branch can reach the standard I experienced at the Erenköy branch about 6-7 months ago.
